William Petrie

Born April 27, 1922 in Flint Michigan and moved to Saginaw in 1935. He served in the US Army Air Corp from Nov. 1942 until Nov. 1945. Moved to Cincinnati in 1957 to provide education for deaf children. Beloved husband of the late Jean Dafoe. Loving father of Toby (Michell) Petrie, Deb (Mike) Cappel, Mary Kay (Jerry) Studer, Becky (the late Ed) Schoemer, Paul Petrie Sr., Terry (Sheryl) Petrie Pat (Pam) Petrie, the late Billy Petrie, Missy Hunckler and Tim Petrie. Cherished grandfather of Barbie, Tony, Jimmy, Bonnie, Stephanie, Dorothy, Bill III, Harry Shelly, Pat, Jeff Jennie, Sunni, Jason, Samson, Paul Jr., Kayla, Matt, Eric, Renee, Katie, Brian and Julie. He served in Our Lady of Victory with wife and friends to help establish Christian Family Movement Groups. Together with his wife, worked in the Archdiocese Family Life Program. Lector and Lay Distributor of Communion. Active in school programs at St. Rita as well as Cursillo Movement. Ordained Deacon in 1976 and served at St. Antoninus from 1977 until 2004. Directed the RCIA programs and active in such activities as Baptisms, Marriage Preparations, advocate in marriage tribunal cases, Liturgy Preparations, and installed a data processing system for the parish. In Michigan, he was director of data processing for Michigan National Bank. In Cincinnati he worked with companies providing processing services to saving and loan associations. Memorials may be made to St. Rita’s School for the Death Memorial Program, 1720 Glendale-Milford Road Cincinnati, OH 45215. Private services are being held at the family’s convenience
