Susan F. Brogan

Susan F. (nee Mercurio) passed away on February 28th at the age of 75. Survived by her loving husband of 53 years Russell, children Colleen (Brian) Roth; Michael (Shannon); Jeff (Katie); Sean (Allyson); and Erin (Joe) Lind. Sue was the proud grandma of 12 grandchildren: Abby, Natalie, Jacob, Ryan, Joey, Drew, Ellie, Chase, Bennett, Miles, Laney, and Harper. Sue is also survived by her brothers, Jerry (Delphi): Mark (Diane) Mercurio; cousin/ ‘sister’ Ruth (Tim) Goad; 11 brother and sister in-laws, 31 nieces and nephews and countless friends. Proceeded in death by her parents Joe and Lena Mercurio and her special angel grandson Chase.

At a young age, she discovered the importance of family, surrounded by a close-knit family, many of whom immigrated from Italy. She was a proud Italian and spent her early years living with a small community of Italians in Over-The-Rhine before moving to Price Hill. Sue was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother - always putting her family above everything. She was the lifeline for her family; getting her five children to practice, games and events and taking care of her beloved husband Russ in recent years. She would often be found proudly supporting her grandchildren on the sidelines at their games. Sue graduated from Seton High school in 1966 and supported the school in different ways through the years. She was a member of St Teresa parish for more than 50 years where she volunteered at the school and church for festivals and events. Her passion and support of Elder High School was evident, she loved attending football and basketball games and her favorite color was purple. Sue wouldn’t miss an outing with friends and family. She enjoyed hosting parties over the years at her home and pool, and always looked forward to getting together for events like the annual Brogan St. Patrick’s Day Parade Party. She also liked playing the slots and often hit for big winnings! Sue lived a great life and will be missed by many but will never be forgotten for the love and humor she brought to all of us.

Visitation will be held on Sun. Mar. 5th from 2pm until 5pm held at the Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd 45233. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Mon. Mar. 6th at St. Teresa of Avila at 11am, followed by a graveside service at St Joseph’s New Cemetery 4500 Foley Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45238.

The family invites friends and family to celebrate Sue’s life starting at 12:30p at the Miami Township Community Center - 3780 Shady Ln, North Bend, OH 45052.
