Shirley Ann Lassandro, born on February 27, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, surrounded by cherished memories and the love of her family.
Shirley was a devoted wife to the late Victor R. Lassandro Jr., whom she married on March 27, 1954. Together, they weathered life's joys and challenges, creating a home filled with love and warmth. She was a proud mother of four, including her late children, Vickie Lassandro, Victor Lassandro III, and Lori Nelson. Today, Shirley is survived by her son, Michael Lassandro, and her daughter-in-law, Christy Lassandro, who together carry forward her legacy of love and resilience.
Shirley was the beloved daughter of Nick and Bertha Schnur (Berry), and she is also remembered by her surviving brother, Nick Schnur. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Jaeger, and sister-in-law, Hae Cha Schnur, both of whom she held dear in her heart.
A loving grandmother, Shirley found joy in her grandchildren: Justin Nelson, Ryan Nelson, Stephanie Lester (and husband Scott), Mariah Kinney, Brianna Williams (and husband Anthony), Antonio Lassandro, and Anthony Lassandro. Her proud role as a great-grandmother provided her with endless happiness, as she cherished moments with McKayla Holley-Gabbard, Noah Krabbe, Ryan Nelson Jr., Alaric Lester, and Oliver Nelson.
Shirley's passions enriched her life deeply; she was an avid reader and a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds, always cheering for her team. Her love for Native American history, crochet, travel, and music—especially the soothing melodies of Johnny Mathis—painted the tapestry of her vibrant personality. She was known for her beautiful smile and kind, gentle nature, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on April 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 7:00 PM at Radel Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 650 Neeb Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45233.
