Shirley Ann Savu

Shirley Ann (Nee: Goins) beloved wife of Peter Savu. Loving mother of Lisa (Liz) Savu and the late Steven Savu. Devoted grandmother of Piper Savu. Also survived by numerous other family and friends. Passed away on March 12, 2023 at the age of 82 years. Visitation will be Thurs. March 16th from 5:00 until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 P.M. at the Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, 451-8800. Shirley was born to Earl and Pauline (née Wood) Goins, and grew up in the Pendleton and then Fairview Heights neighborhoods of Cincinnati. After graduating from Hughes High School in 1958, where she was proud of her work as an Associate Editor of their respected school newspaper, The Gargoyle, she then graduated as an RN from the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in 1961, and went on to earn certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at the University of Cincinnati in 1966. She worked as a CRNA in the Tri-State area until December 2022.

She was always a lover of the Arts, particularly literature and poetry, and the performing arts, especially Broadway musicals, the Symphony and Opera. She was also very active in politics, with a strong belief in “fighting the good fight.” To Shirley, family always came first, and she was a devoted wife of over 58 years to Pete, and a very dedicated mother to Lisa and Steve, and grandmother to Piper. She will be forever in our hearts.
