Sherman William Schauer Ii

SCHAUER II, SHERMAN WILLIAM (SKIPP)
Loving husband, awesome father, adored G-pop and incredible friend, Skipp Schauer of Plano passed away on November 17 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents Jewelle Mitter Schauer and Sherman Schauer and by his son Christian William Schauer. Skipp is survived by the love of his life for 45 years, Carol Paul Schauer, their son and daughter-in-law Derek Jamieson and Melissa Lyons Schauer, and grandchildren Emma Soraya and Jackson William; and his sister Leslie Schauer Decourcy.
Skipp graduated from Indian Hill High School and Xavier University in his hometown of Cincinnati Ohio where he made many lifelong friends. Skipp loved to drive fast cars, enjoyed watching hockey and playing golf. Favorite golf outings include rounds at Pebble Beach and St. Andrews, and a different daily course for two weeks across Ireland. Most of all, he loved to laugh. Through a long sales and management career at Volvo Trucks he traveled extensively, and moved his family to Plano in 1990, which quickly became home with countless new friends.
Skipp was a quietly generous man. Throughout his life he supported numerous organizations but his most generous gift was the willed donation of his body to the UT Southwestern Cancer Research program. The donation will further realize Skipp’s selfless gift to save and improve lives and to advance medical frontiers. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to support cancer research at UT Southwestern Medical Center, c/o Southwestern Medical Foundation, 3889 Maple Avenue, Suite 100, Dallas, TX 75219 or online at https://swmedical.org/makeagift
