Robert E. Lambers, age 88, went home to the Lord on October 29, 2022. He died peacefully at home with his family by his side after years of battling MSA. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Schmidt) Lambers for 59 years. Devoted father to Kathy (Ron) Romano, Mike (Stephanie) Lambers and Dan (Cathi) Lambers. Cherished grandfather to Josh (Jess) Romano, Zack Romano, Jake (Audrey) Romano, Kelsey (Gus) O’Hara, Kelly, Alana, Maura & Cady Lambers and great grandsons; Aiden, Eli & Jude Romano. He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Lucille Lambers, brother Dick Lambers, brother-in-law Ron Schmidt & Dale Dyehouse and sister-in-law Judy Pilgrim. He is survived by his brother, Ron (Debbie) Lambers, sisters-in-law Lois Lambers, Joyce Dyehouse and Joanie Schmidt and brothers-in-law Jim Schmidt and Jack Pilgrim. He also has many loved nieces and nephews.
Bob graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BA in Business Administration in 1957. He served in the Air Force (123rd AC & W Squadron) and was stationed in Germany during the Cold War from 1961 to 1962. Bob worked as a project manager for the City of Cincinnati Regional Computer Center from 1969-1993. He was an avid sport enthusiast playing softball, golfing, hiking, cycling & skiing, cheering on his high school (Elder) and college (UC) alma mater teams and coaching several of his kid’s sports teams.
Visitation will be held on Veterans Day, Friday November 11, from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, 45233. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Victory, 810 Neeb Road, 45233. Burial to follow at OLV cemetery after Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Rita School for the Deaf and Hospice of Cincinnati.
