Richard A. Vogele

Richard Allen Vogele of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on December 1, 2024, at Bayley in Delhi Township. Richard was born November 17, 1932, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Raymond P. and Margaret C. (Sullivan) Vogele. Richard grew up in the neighborhood of Bond Hill in Cincinnati. He graduated from Purcell High School “The Cavalier Castle” in 1951 and then went on to study at the University of Cincinnati, College of Business Administration on a basketball scholarship. During college he worked as a co-op in traffic engineering for the City of Cincinnati. After college Richard worked as an accountant for 32 years at KD Lamp Co. in Cincinnati until his retirement. He was an avid swimmer, sports fan and enjoyed following the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and the University of Cincinnati Bearcats basketball and football teams. Upon retirement he enjoyed vacationing with his family during the summer months in Charlevoix, Michigan. He was devoted to his late wife of 60 years, Marilyn R. Vogele (Mertens). Loving father of Sue (Paul) Verst, Michael (Laura), Mark and Greg (Kerry) Vogele. Dear grandfather of Christine (Eric) Severson, Christopher (Devinne) and Patrick Verst, Thomas (Emily), Molly, Kaitlyn, Julia, and Jack Vogele. Cherished great-grandfather of Savannah, Rory and Brooks Severson, Peri Verst. Dear brother of the late Ronald C. Vogele. Also survived by other family and friends.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, Cincinnati, OH 45233 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. William Church, 4108 W. 8th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45205 at 12:00 p.m.  Entombment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, 3819 W 8th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45205 immediately after the Mass.  In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Society of St. Vincent DePaul, 1125 Bank Street, Cincinnati, OH 45214 or Old St. Mary’s Church Pregnancy Center, 123 E. 13th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
