Mary Claire Torbeck

We are grateful for our mom who is now running the party in heaven. She was born 7-22-1928 to Simon and Ida Leis, the oldest of 6 children, Katie Jo Gay, Ida Jane Staley, Simon L Leis Jr, Margaret Leis and Babs Leis. Mom joined dad, Jack, on 12-16-2024. They had 5 children, John (Lynn), Cathy Ray, Annie (Mark) Kroth, Chris (Susan), and Mary (Pete) Schulcz. She was gifted with 13 grandchilldren, JT (Becky), Michael (Katie), Jamie (Sammy), Justin (Sarah), Emmy (Jake), Kelly, Abby (Jason), TJ (Jessica), Adam Kroth, Alex (Kyle), Peter (Stephanie), John Simon and Maddy, and 19 precious great grandchildren. As a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and Our Lady of Cincinnati College, mom had a strong devotion. Her prayerful life was to the Blessed Mother. In her younger years she was a teacher and opened a Nursery School, The Gingerbread House, that Jack built. As children came along, she focused on raising a family and had an endless commitment to charitable work. Her favorite was her work as president of Special Olympics. Her boundless energy for entertaining, tennis, golf, travel, and volunteering made her heart full. Mom's true love was with her family and friends. With this, she leaves a legacy of laughter and cherished memories for all to share. 

Visitation will take place on Friday, December 27th, from 9:30am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am held at St. Antoninus Church.
