It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Ridout (nee Wagner), who left us on December 5, 2024, at the remarkable age of 92. Born on April 25, 1932, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Harry and Anna (nee Fiefhaus) Wagner, Mary Ann’s life was a tapestry woven with love, kindness, and faith.
Mary Ann found her soulmate in the late Alfred Ridout, whom she married on May 26, 1951, at St. Leo's Church. Their marriage spanned 57 beautiful years, filled with cherished moments and unwavering companionship. As a devoted mother, Mary Ann raised her children, Sheri (Bob) Williams and Rick (Robin) Ridout, with heartfelt guidance and nurturing love. She took immense joy in her role as grandmother to Casey (Ali), Mollie (Kyle), Jonathan (Claire), Ryan, and Paige, and later became a proud great-grandmother to Margaret, Larry, Quinn, Hank, Adeline, and Thomas. The love she shared with her family will forever be remembered as an enduring legacy.
Mary Ann was also a beloved sister to Jerry (Joyce) Wagner and the late Ray (Catherine), Jake (Janet), and Charlie (Ethel) Wagner. The bonds she nurtured with her nieces and nephews brought her countless fond memories that she held dear throughout her life.
Her friendships were a treasured part of her existence. Mary Ann's devoted friends, Nancy and Bob, were integral to her life, providing companionship and warmth in her daily routines. A true blessing to all who knew her, she embraced the title of “grandma” with open arms, embodying the role with love and affection for those far beyond her family.
A devout member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Mary Ann lived her faith through daily prayers, praying the rosary and watching Mass from home when physical limitations became a challenge. Her heartfelt belief in the power of prayer for others was a testament to her compassionate spirit.
Mary Ann will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Wednesday, December 11, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, 810 Neeb Rd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Our Lady of Victory Food Pantry or a charity of your choice, honoring Mary Ann’s spirit of giving and care for those in need.
