Maria R Redden

Maria Raffellea Mazzei Redden, born on October 14, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, at her home in Cincinnati. She was 74 years old.

Maria was the beloved wife of Larry Redden, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage after their union on May 22, 1982. She was a retired Public Safety Dispatcher at Jewish Hospital/UC Health for over thirty years.

Maria was the cherished daughter of Caterina and Pietro Mazzei and a devoted sister to Liz (Michael) Overbey, Josephine (the late Barry) Werning, and Annette (Eric) McGraw. The first six years of her life she spent in Fuscaldo, Italy before moving back to Cincinnati. She leaves behind many cherished family members in Italy.

Maria’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother to Angela Dodson (James Forbis), Mary (Billy) Schrage, Elizabeth Dodson, Michael Reeves, Garfield (Ronda) Redden, Stephanie (Jason) Rouse, Paige Rothan (Austin Moore), and PJ Meyer. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Ethan, Isabella, and Emily Forbis; Josh, Julia, and Jessica Reeves; and Gena, Jeffery, and Payton Redden. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Esmaerelda Moore and Abygail, Madalyn, Lily, Nathan, and Chase Rouse. Her nieces and nephews, Michael Ray (Amy) Overbey, Robert (Jen) Overbey, Rhonda (Tim) Dove and many other special family members. Maria was preceded in death by her parents; her mother in-law, Nellie Golay, her great-granddaughters Jaycie and Aubrey Rouse; her nephew Barry Werning Jr., and other special family members and friends.

Known for her fierce personality, kindness, generosity, and compassion, Maria dedicated her life to her family and friends. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need and will be remembered for the warmth she brought to everyone around her.

Visitation will be held on January 27, 2025, at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45233, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by services at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 4500 Foley Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45238. Wake will follow at Delhi Senior Center, 647 Neeb Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio 45233.

Maria’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
