Margaret M Doherty

Margaret May Doherty, age 83 passed peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of Monday, August 30, 2021. Margaret was preceded in passing by her husband Marvin, her parents Edwin and Margret Doherty (nee Waters) and her twin sister Sr. Mary Doherty, S.C. who died during the Christmas holiday in 2020.
She is survived by her two younger brothers, John (Barbara) Doherty and Jim (Jo Ann) Doherty as well as numerous nieces and nephews including Richard (Todd Rainey) Doherty, Robert (Ae) Doherty, Shannon Eisele (Martin), Erin Billhorn (Robert), Bridget Doherty (Eric Swanke), and Maureen Sketch (Bobby Crowley).
Margaret was a long-time employee of Kroger. But her claim to fame was being known as the “Movie Queen” of Bailey Place. She loved to make people laugh. She could jitterbug with the best of them to Wooly Bully - her favorite tune. She loved her family as much as she loved fried chicken and was known to take carryout in her purse from the buffet. She had the luck of the Irish and routinely won raffles, bingo and was generous with all her winnings.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at St. Martin of Tours (Cheviot) at 10:00 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at New Saint Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Sisters of Charity Retirement Fund.
