Marcus William, age 78, lost his battle with COVID pneumonia on January 14, 2021. He passed on to eternal life while in the loving company of his daughter.
Marcus leaves behind his daughter, Cali Nicole Herzog and her husband Robert; grandchildren Chloe Nicole Steffen and her husband Alec, Samuel Texas Herzog, Daniel Marcus Herzog and Emma Jane Herzog; and siblings Lynda Park and her husband Mike and Connie Gunterman and her husband Joe.
Marcus was born in Somerset, Kentucky on November 20, 1942 to loving parents Maye and Faye Neeley. After being honorably discharged as a specialist in the U.S. Army and working at WTLO radio in Somerset, he made a life in Cincinnati, Ohio as a news director at WKCY-AM radio for many years. Marcus then became a public affairs officer in the Hamilton County Treasurer’s Office and an adjunct professor of Communications at Northern Kentucky University and Mount St. Joseph University.
Marcus remained a principled man of great faith despite being beset by many health challenges. After beating both brain and prostate cancers he lived many years at Bayley where he became a bit of an institution to the caring staff.
Due to COVID safety protocol a “drive-by” visitation will be held at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, Cincinnati, OH 45233, 451-8800 from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, January 20. A private service with military honors will be held in Somerset, KY. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
