Lawrence “Larry” M. Noel Jr., of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away suddenly on January 7, 2025 at the age of 80. Born on January 19, 1944, in Lynchburg, Virginia. Among his various occupations, Larry was proud to have served his country as an Army Reservist. While living in Cincinnati, he met his wife, Donna, at Guys & Dolls Nightclub.
Larry and Donna were married on January 22, 1966 at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, amidst a snow storm. He was a devoted father to their three daughters: Kim, Jill, and Kelly. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and had a special bond with each one. He was often seen on the sidelines at the grandkids’ soccer, baseball and hockey games. Additionally, he was blessed to be a great-grandfather of 3 and cherished them.
While Larry was not a specifically religious man, his values were rooted deep in his kindness and giving. His giving heart expanded beyond people to his love for animals. In his younger days, he was often known to catch stray cats near their boat storage, have them fixed and then return them to their habitat. Beyond retirement years, you could often find Larry driving around town as an Uber driver, sharing a smile and conversation with strangers.
Larry will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Donna Noel (nee Miller), daughters, Kim (Glenn) Ammon, Jill Fulton, Kelly Fredrick; his grandchildren, Hannah Ammon (Jake Bick), Connor Ammon, Caden Ammon, Will Fulton, Nate Fulton, Hailey Fredrick, Alicia Fredrick; and great granddaughters, Arabella Vanover, Addison Vanover, and Violet Huffman; as well as nieces and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Noel Sr. and Mildred Witt; grandmother, Maude Graham; father and mother-in-law, William and Ruth Miller; sister, Patricia O’Neal; and brother, Louis Witt.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 pm with service immediately following at 2:00 pm. Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45233. Reception to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to charities close to the hearts of his family: Friends of Winton Hills Academy (friendsofwha.org) or Good Samaritan Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (https://9116.thankyou4caring.org/donate)
May his memory and kindness continue to be illuminated through his family and friends.
