Smith,
JoAnn Estelle (Nee: Dick), age 83, died on Monday December 29,2020. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 18, 1937.
She met her husband, Walter (Bud) Smith in 1954 when he worked for her dad on a fruit and vegetable truck. They were married on February 23, 1957 at St. Martins Church in Sedamsville. She was a Keypunch operator for the IRS in Covington, KY and later worked as a teacher for the Cincinnati Head Start Program.
She was the most amazing wife, mother, grandmother (JoJo) and great grandmother. She was the sweetest and kindest person we ever met. She truly was an angel walking on earth. She never met a stranger and went out of her way to make everyone feel welcome. You could have just met her or have loved her for 50 years and she treated you like family. She loved to talk for hours and was an amazing person to talk to. She loved to capture memories by taking pictures of everyone. She loved to read and travel with friends and family alike. She lounged by the pool for hours on end, enjoying a great book and soaking up the sun. She loved watching the sunset and enjoyed the breathtaking views. The outpouring of love and support for her has been amazing and it is clear she has touched and made an impact on hundreds and hundreds of lives. She truly loved life and always lived it to the fullest. If life is measured by the number of people that you touch, she is off the charts and truly was an angel placed on earth and we are all better for it. Everytime we look up and see an amazing sunset, we know it is her saying hi and reminding us she will forever be with us.
JoAnn is survived by her beloved husband, Bud Smith, devoted daughter, Barb Meek (Steve), son, Charles Smith, 5 grandchildren, Andrew, Tiffany (Matt), Sam, Ben (Sarah), Jake (Stacey), 4 great grandchildren, Xavier, Lola, Wyatt and Juniper. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Minnie Dick and her brother William Dick.
A private family service will be held at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45233 on January 5,2020. She will be buried at Spring Grove Cemetery on Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio.
