Joan L. Redd

Joan L. Redd, (Nee: Schmidt) age 66, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 10, 2024.  Preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Schmidt.  Leaves behind her father, Gerry Schmidt; brother, Ken; sister-in-law, Kim; nephews Brad and Zach; Uncle Bill (Martha); Uncle Ed (Connie); Uncle Ron (Barb) and many wonderful cousins and lifelong friends.   Joan graduated from Oak Hills High School and received a full scholarship to Northern Kentucky University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.   She was the most devoted and loving “Cat Mom” to Simba, Sheba, Harley, Lissa, Oliver, Gracie Ann, and Matteo.  Her first six cats lived a beautiful and long life, many living over 18 years.  She was happy knowing she would reunite with them on the “Rainbow Bridge”.  Per Joan's wishes, Matteo has been lovingly adopted by her friend, Michelle, who has welcomed him into her home. He is happily making friends with her cats in his new home.  Joan was a master at needlepoint and crochet, completing a number of beautiful works.  She also enjoyed singing with the church choir and played the flute.  If you would like, memorials can be left to SPCA Cincinnati or the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will take place on Friday March 15^th starting at 10am with a closing memorial at 12pm, held at the Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd. 45233.
