Jack (Joaquim) M. Moreira

Jack (Joaquim) Moreira passed away peacefully on the morning of March 13, 2024 after a short battle with ALS. His wife Maria Fernanda, married for 57 years, was at his bedside. He is survived by his four children; Paula, Michael, Paulo and Daniel.  He also leaves behind six grandchildren, and was the uncle to many, brother to eleven siblings and friend to countless others.

Jack was a proud veteran of the Portuguese Air Force. He and Fernanda immigrated from Portugal in 1970 with their toddler daughter and slowly built a life together based on love and hard work. He was an automotive technician in Portugal and continued his career until retirement in 2012. Jack was a profoundly faithful man who loved God, Jesus, Mother Mary and especially family.

Jack will be remembered for being a great neighbor and friendly conversationalist. He was always willing to extend a helping hand to friends and family. He was also an enthusiastic traveler who enjoyed everything from long road trips to travel throughout Europe. He was passionate about classical music, fine wine, and good food. Noted for having a green thumb, his vegetable and flower gardens were a point of pride for him. He will be forever remembered as a faithful husband, doting father, and loyal friend whose unwavering integrity made him a role model for so many.

His family is requesting donations in lieu of flowers; donations to The Apostolate for the Dying, or Hospice of Cincinnati would be greatly appreciated.
