George W. Nieman

NIEMAN, George William, beloved husband to the love of his life, Amy Nieman (nee Comarata) for 7 years. Loving father of Parker, Evan, Cooper and bonus dad to Jack and Ben Weigand. Devoted son of the late William P. Nieman and mother Patricia A. Nieman (Bain). Son-in-law of Gloria and the late Anthony J. Comarata. Dear brother of Andrew Nieman. Brother-in-law of Lisa (Doug) Sammons, Tony Comarata, Steve (Melissa) Comarata. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Beloved rescue dog of 9 years, Hunter. Also survived by hundreds of family and friends. Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 9th 2024 at the age of 49.

 George was born in Richmond, Virginia and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio; he became a Tiger at Our Lady of Lourdes grade school and graduated from Elder High School in 1992. He remained a proud Panther who bled purple on Friday nights. George graduated from Miami University in Oxford with a degree in Sport Management. He loved football, baseball, basketball and especially enjoyed coaching his son’s sports teams at Our Lady of Lourdes. He also loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting and hiking with close friends and family. George really enjoyed challenging others with random rankings and top 25s for any topic imaginable. He had a passion for traveling and jeep rides with Amy, their family and friends. For over 33 years, George was a successful business owner of George Nieman’s Landscaping and Design. He beautified and shaped many communities throughout Cincinnati using his expertise in horticulture and landscape design. He had an infectious personality, heart of gold, a friend to all, and someone who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Helping others even after death, George chose to be an organ donor.

 Visitation will take place on Monday, July 15th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Elder High School’s Schaeper Center. The mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 16 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Visitation Church, 3172 South Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45248. In lieu of flowers, contributions in the name George Nieman may be made to Elder High School’s Crisis Fund at 3900 Vincent Ave Cincinnati, OH 45205.
