Florence Elizabeth “Peggy” Gallo, age 88, passed away surrounded by family on 9/22/24 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash. Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard Gallo and her son Ken Gallo. Coming from a large family, she had several siblings that also preceded her in death: Frank (Marian) Ulmer, Marjorie “Margie” (Mario) Francomacaro, Charles “Todd” Ulmer, Dorothy “Dot” (Joe) Gibbs, Johnny (Madeline) Ulmer. She also had a beloved twin Martha “Mart” Kooger who passed away in 1993. She is survived by her younger sister, Alice Redfield and brother-in-law, Arie Kooger. She had 5 children: Ken (Margie) Gallo, Lynn (Darrell) Day, Rick (Donna) Gallo, Bruce (Debbie) Gallo, and Dean Gallo. She had 8 grandchildren she adored: Mandy (Mike) Mullen, Linda (Ryan) Bittner, Jen (Matt) Edwards, Dan (Jackie) Gallo, Kristen (Kyle) Mullin, Mike (Kirsten) Gallo, Bill (Missy) Gallo, and Megan Gallo as well as 15 great grandchildren: Grace (Devyn), Karalyn, Eadie, Michael, Tony, Lane, Lizzie, Lucy, Sienna, Ava, Connor, Maren, Ella, W.A., and K.D. Peggy was born on January 10th, 1936 to Johnny and Florence Ulmer. She married her husband at 18 and worked at Procter & Gamble for 38 years. She loved cooking family dinners each weekend enjoying the company of her family and doting on her grandchildren. After retiring she and Richard spent winters in Florida but still remained in close contact with her children and grandchildren, eventually having her daughter as a neighbor. She loved cooking, playing cards, games, shopping, dominoes and socializing with friends & family in addition to spending time at the beach and pool. She was a peaceful and kind soul with a warm smile and gentle words for everyone she met. She remained close to her family talking with them every day even as her health declined rapidly in her final years of life. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday September 30th at 11 AM – 1 PM followed by a service at 1:00 at Radel Funeral home 650 Neeb Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45233. Burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Canine Companions in loving memory of our mother, Peggy Gallo.
