Edward “Jim” died March 11, 2021. Beloved husband of 63 years to Joan Merk (nee Selcer). Member of Our Lady of Victory Parish for 61 years where he enjoyed coaching basketball and baseball and was involved in the Parish festival for many years. Survived by his wife Joan, children: Carol (Rick) Keegan, Cathie (Doug) Gutzwiller, Jim (Angela) Merk. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Lee) McKenzie, Michael (Angel) Arnold, Bryan (Angela) Gutzwiller, Kevin (Lisa) Gutzwiller, Kelly Gutzwiller, Kate (Aaron) Rose, Amanda Merk, Meredith Merk ( fiancé Austin Wooten). Great Grandchildren, Brady, Riley, Colin Gutzwiller, Nicholas, Jackson McKenzie, Maggie, Michael, Max Gutzwiller, Caleb Arnold and Rome Marie. Jim graduated from St. Martin’s grade school, Elder High School (1951), Xavier University (1955) where he was a member of the ROTC program and upon graduation served 2 years as an MP in Germany. After an honorable discharge from the army, he entered the Insurance business, eventually owning his own agency until he retired. Visitation will be Wednesday March 17, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:30 at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd. 451-8800 followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Victory at 11:00 AM. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday September 16, at 10:30am held at St. Vincent DePaul on Rt. 50. Immediately following the service a celebration of life will take place at The Farm on Anderson Ferry Road.
