Dorothy Mildred (Burger) Schultheis, 99, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 28, 2024. Her husband, Joseph Roger Schultheis, preceded her in death on August 30, 2008. They had four children, twins, Michael Schultheis and Theresa (Ken) Jung, Gloria Schultheis, and Barbara (Tony) Maas. Dorothy was the last surviving sibling of nine children: Anthony, Edward, Theresa, Mary, Paul, John, and twins who died as infants. Grandchildren are Jeff, Randy, Sarah, Christy, Matthew, Josh, Brittany, Michelle. Great grandchildren are Hailey, Abby, Raelynn, Evan, Amelia, August, Berkley, Remi, Wyatt, Dominic, Maria, Nicholas, Anna, Michael, Faustina, Luke.
Dorothy was born in Erlanger, Kentucky on June 25, 1925. She attended St Henry school. She worked at Gibson and Arts greeting card company. A fellow employee introduced her nephew, Joseph, to Dorothy, and they married on October 3, 1953.
Joseph and Dorothy were very involved in their Catholic faith. Dorothy helped with religious education (CCD) when her children were younger. She was a den mother when her son was in the Cub Scouts.
For a period of time Dorothy took care of a number of foster children on a temporary basis.
Joseph eventually became a permanent deacon. Dorothy assisted her husband a great deal in his ministry, especially with the RCIA program (helping adults enter the Catholic Church) and with baptisms. She also helped with the Food Pantry, Bereavement Committee, Peace and Justice Committee, and the Worship Committee.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, followed by an 11:00 Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Victory Church, 810 Neeb Road.
