Dorothea "Dottie" D. Dorsch

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Dottie (Lucia) Dorsch, who left this world on March 6, 2025, at the age of 74. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 2, 1950, Dottie was the youngest of three children to Noble (Buck) and Ruth (Eisenecker) Lucia. She attended St. Bonaventure Church for grade school and later graduated from Our Lady of Angels High School. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted lifelong member of Our Lady of Victory Parish.

Dottie’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and service. From the time she was a child, she had an innate warmth that touched everyone she met. She met her soulmate, Michael J. Dorsch, in kindergarten—an extraordinary love story that led to 52 beautiful years of marriage. On July 22, 1972, they exchanged vows, embarking on a lifetime together filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together, they made their home in Delhi, where they raised two cherished children.

A natural caregiver, Dottie dedicated her life to nurturing others. She volunteered tirelessly at Our Lady of Victory School, organizing the cafeteria parent volunteers. Her generosity extended beyond her family, as she lovingly babysat the children of friends and neighbors, becoming a second mother to many.

Dottie was known for her incredible talent in the kitchen. Her Christmas cookies and famous buckeye balls were legendary, bringing joy to countless family gatherings and holiday celebrations. Her home was always filled with the comforting aroma of homemade meals, a true reflection of her love and care for those around her.

Above all, family was the heart of Dottie's world. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest treasures, and she poured endless love and devotion into their lives. In the past two decades, being a grandmother became her most cherished role. She delighted in every moment with her grandchildren—watching them grow, celebrating their milestones, and spoiling them with love and thoughtful gifts.

Dottie is survived by her devoted husband, Michael J. Dorsch; her loving children, Melanie (Chris) Broxterman and Michael (Kelli) Dorsch; and her treasured grandchildren, Grace and Caleb Broxterman, and Mara, Audrey, Logan, and Calvin Dorsch. She was also blessed with cherished "bonus children" Amanda (Tony) Niemeyer and Ryan Huesman, as well as bonus grandchildren Madie and Cohen Niemeyer. She is also survived by her dear brothers, Patrick Lucia and Lou (Kathy) Lucia. She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Noble (Buck) and Ruth (Eisenecker) Lucia.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Radel Funeral Home (Neeb Road). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Victory Church on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, where we will gather to celebrate Dottie's beautiful life and enduring legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Elder and Seton High School in Dottie’s memory—a tribute to her lifelong spirit of giving and kindness.

Though our hearts ache in her absence, we take comfort in knowing that Dottie’s love, laughter, and unwavering kindness will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was truly one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
