Dolores Rita Schmitz

Schmitz, Dolores Rita, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022. Dolores was born on March 9, 1944, in Batesville, Indiana to Bernard Robert Schmitz and Catherine Maria von Garrell Schmitz. By the age of 8, Dolores had lost both her parents and was taken in and raised by John and Elizabeth Tangemann as was her sister and two brothers. After graduating from Seton High School, Dolores worked for the Franciscan Friars in Cincinnati for many years. Dolores was also a consistent and helping figure at St. Anthony’s Parish in Morris, Indiana where her brother Monsignor Schmitz served for many years. This parish was also near the family farm where she spent her first few years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the Tangemanns, her sister Elizabeth Molchan, brother Reverend Monsignor Bernard R. Schmitz, and her sister Mary. She leaves behind her brother John H. Schmitz, nieces Catherine Donald, Caroline (Kirk) Brown, nephews Gregory (Amy) Molchan, Jeffery M. Schmitz and Adam J. (Claudia) Schmitz. She also leaves behind three great nephews Carter Molchan, Quinlan Brown and Samuel Schmitz and a great niece Olivia Schmitz.

Visitation will be held on Friday December 2, from 10:30 until 12:30 at Radel Funeral and Cremation Services, 650 Neeb Road, Cincinnati.
