Charles Zimmerman

Charles Zimmerman, 72, of Cleves, Ohio beloved husband, father and grandfather was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2022. He passed respectfully with his wife and children by his side at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Chuck was born on March 24, 1949 and raised in Cincinnati, OH. Son of Charles and Yvonne (Joseph) Zimmerman. He was a graduate of Elder High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. He met the love of his life, Regina and they were married on April 4, 1986 and started a loving family.

Chuck joined the Cincinnati Police Division as a recruit on July, 30, 1972. He was promoted to a Patrolman on December 17, 1972. During 1980, he became one of the first bicycle Officers in over 60 years. He won gold medals in the Regional Police Olympics and silver & bronze medals in the International Police Olympics. He was transferred to the Police Academy in 1989 and promoted to Police Specialist in 1993. He retired in 1999 with 27 years of service. Then from 1999-2014, he worked for AKAL Security, with the Marshall Service.

He loved playing softball and the camaraderie shared with his teammates. Chuck was a sports fanatic, a TV, movie, and food enthusiast. He enjoyed golfing, going to the gym almost every morning, and loved spending time with his family and friends.

He will be remembered and missed by his loving wife of 36 years, Regina (Butler) Zimmerman, his twin children Kelli(Zak) Rosselott of New Vienna, OH and Kyle Zimmerman, Cincinnati, OH; Four grandchildren Breanna, Lydia, Kyler, Elsie, and another one on the way; His sisters Yvette(Michael) Grodi, Colette Cavins, and Carol Vassel. He is also survived by a niece, nephew, many cousins, as well as neighbors who he remained very close with throughout his life.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until the time of FOP Service at 3:00pm at the Radel Funeral Home 650 Neeb Rd. on Thursday March 17
