Betty J. Stone

Betty Jane (Nee: Simpkins) Stone, age 97, of Sayler Park, passed away on December 25, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family. Betty was born in April of 1925 to Herbert and Isabell Simpkins, the middle child and only girl of six children. She loved her brothers Herbert, Kenneth, James, Donald and Marvin dearly. After graduation, Betty married Alfred W. Rice and had her two children, who were her pride and joy. Along with raising her children and maintaining a household, Betty also worked at the local nursing facility taking care of the elderly community. After marrying her second husband, Albert C. Stone, Betty and Albert found several hobbies that they enjoyed including Polka music, winning yard of the month in Sayler Park, and playing board games. Betty is survived by her two children, Michael (Carol) and Denise (Sonny), five stepchildren, five grandchildren and their spouses, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. The visitation will be held at Radel Funeral Home on January 4, 2023 from 11am to 1pm followed by a short service. A burial service will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will conclude at the American Legion on Route 50.
