Barbara Ann “Barb” Kitchen (nee Ulmer), age 55, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at home surrounded by her husband and family. She was the beloved wife of Bradley “Brad” Kitchen for 25 years.
She is survived by her brothers Steve (Sue), Chris (Sandie), Ned (Carol), Dave (Sonja), Robert and sister Susan (Chris) Torbeck; brother-in-law Bruce (Lynn) Kitchen, special aunt Nancy Klosterman, uncle Dr. Richard “Dick” (Jane) Ulmer and numerous cousins; loving aunt to 24 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ann Ulmer.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd, from 4:00-7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 10:30am at St. Antoninus Church, 1500 Linneman Rd. Burial immediately following at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery.
She graduated from Mother of Mercy High School and the College of Mount St. Joseph. She grew her professional career at Fifth Third Bank where she met her husband, Brad. She also lent her talents to her brother Steve at his State Farm Insurance Agency. Her personal greatest accomplishment was moving to the roll of Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice of Cincinnati. During her nearly 15 years of overseeing HOC volunteers, she came to know more than 100 incredible individuals who shared her passion. She considered them all friends as they worked vigorously in the pursuit of the love HOC provides countless members of our community. She ended her career as the Front Office Specialist at Tri Health Priority Care where she was dearly loved by the staff and patients.
Lifelong parishioner of St. Antoninus Church where she served as Co-President of the Youth Group, Prep School Teacher, Lector and Eucharistic Minister.
Above all, she poured herself into family and life-long friends. Her pastimes were deeply rooted in sharing lunches, dinners and fan pursuits of the Reds, Bengals, FC Cincinnati and Xavier basketball.
