Anne Bauer Lanning

Anne Bauer Lanning, 79 years old, passed away with her loving family around her on April 2, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her father, Louis H. Bauer and loving husband, Everett Eugene Lanning (“Gene”).  She is survived by her loving mother, Milburn Woodford Bauer, sister Susan Bauer (Patrick Mitchell), beloved daughters Allison Lanning and Kimberly Lanning-Keller (Brian), and cherished grandchildren Adam Keller (Vivian), Grant Keller (Elizabeth), and Mackenzie Keller.

Anne was born in Pee Wee Valley, KY and grew up in Louisville, KY.  She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and then received her degree as a Dental Hygienist from University of Louisville.  She married the love of her life, Gene, on June 30, 1962, and they were married for over 50 years.  Anne was a devoted Wife, Mother, and “Grammy”; She was always independent, adventurous, and completely dedicated to her family.  Anne volunteered on the PTA, played adult soccer, worked as a dental hygienist for over 20 years and then became a real estate agent.  She loved to help first time home buyers find the perfect house.  She was an avid reader, loved playing cards, the challenge of crossword puzzles, and celebrating holidays especially Halloween.  In her recent years, she attended fitness classes at Bayley Place.  She would never want to miss one class and so enjoyed all the new friends she had made.

Her favorite place on earth was Hilton Head Island, and with her family, she spent many summers there creating amazing memories parasailing, jet skiing, riding the zodiac boats, bicycling, playing games and splashing in the pool and ocean.  Next on the list for Anne would be Las Vegas and the Casino Riverboats in Lawrenceburg, IN.  Over the years, she enjoyed many good times at the slot machines with family and friends.

Anne was an incredible person who had a servant’s heart and someone who would travel to the ends of the earth if needed, for those she loved. She was blessed with lifelong friends: Barbara, Idres, Julie, Mary Jo and Pat, Mary Jo and Bob and Ruth and Bob.
