Mary Catherine “Cathy” McDonald
Cincinnati, OH – Cathy passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and close friends on August 3, 2022, from complications due to a glioblastoma brain tumor. She was born on November 24. 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Beverly (Becker) Meyer and the late Vincent Meyer.

After graduating from Seton High School in 1980 Cathy attended the College of Mount St. Joseph graduating in 1984 with a degree in Elementary Education. She subsequently obtained a job teaching 4th grade at St. Ann’s Grade School in Groesbeck. In 1985 Cathy Married her High School sweetheart Jim McDonald. Upon the arrival of their first child in 1987 Cathy became a stay-at-home mom raising four children in a loving environment instilling in them Christian values and love of God.

Cathy was a talented artist and photographer. In high school she won a Scholastic Arts Award for for a black and white winter scene photograph. She enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking, and spending time with her 7 grandchildren. Cathy loved her Catholic faith and had a special devotion to our Blessed Mother. She enjoyed traveling with the St. Jude Youth Group on pilgrimages attending several World Youth Day events in New Zealand, Australia, Portugal, and Spain.

Cathy is survived by her high school sweetheart, best friend and husband Jim, daughters Sara (Alex) Cramer, Maria (Quinn) Meyer and sons Nick (Kaitlyn) McDonald and Matt (Cory) McDonald. Surviving in addition to her husband and children are her mother Beverly (Becker) Meyer, sister Beth (Dave) Scholl, brothers Michael (Katie) Meyer and Vince (Mary Beth) Meyer. Loving grandmother of AJ, Andrew, Robbie, Lucy, Lucas, Luna, Henley, and grandbaby number 8 due in October. Preceded in death by her father Vincent Meyer and stillborn daughter Angela Marie McDonald.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 8th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd. 45233 (513)451-8800 or www.radelfuneral.com. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday August 9th at 11:30am at St. Antoninus Church.
